Entering its fourth year, ExploreAsia camps engage Houstonians aged 6 to 11 with the arts, cultures, and histories of Asia. Past experiences have included hands-on multidisciplinary visual arts projects, interactive performances from some of the city’s leading dancers and musicians, experts on Asian traditions and contemporary life, language instruction by community partners, and food demonstrations of Asia’s most popular snacks.
Our second session for Summer 2016, The Many Faces of Asia: Exploring the Continent’s Cultural Diversity, will feature art projects and performances focusing on:
- Aboriginal and Indigenous Cultures
- Central and Turkic Asia
- Musical Traditions
- Oral Histories and Written Languages
- Peoples of China
