¡Que vivan los niños! Hooray, kids! "Children's Day" honors kids on various days in many places around the world. In Mexico, it is celebrated on April 30 and is known as "El día del niño." Join us for our Día del Niño Celebration. Embrace your youth, use your imagination and enjoy activities that encourage your child within to come out and play!
The museum's special event will focus on enriching kids' lives with bilingual literacy.
SPECIAL EVENTS:
- Consulate General of Mexico: Take home free books with you, while supplies last.
- Mariachi Serenata Juvenil: Enjoy a twenty minute musical performance featuring traditional songs. Event Time: 1 & 1:30 p.m. in Alcove.
ON-GOING ACTIVITIES:
- Painting with Toys: Put a bit of paint on our toys, then press, drag, or roll them on your paper to see what designs you can create at Art Acadaemy.
- Nature Hand Tracing: Trace and decorate your hand to create different living animals in nature at EcoStation.
- Watch Me Grow: Plant your own lima bean and watch as it sprouts and grows at EcoStation.
- Day of the Child Crown: Create your own crown in celebration of day of the child at Junktion.
- Tissue Paper Flower: Get creative and make your own tissue paper flower, a traditional craft from Mexico used during festivals and holidays at Junktion.
- Pom Pom Popper: Come create your own pom pom pop & catch at Junktion.
- Roll a Rainbow: Be the first to roll a rainbow on your own rainbow mat at Math Cart.
- Toy Take Apart: Discover how toys light up, make noise and move at the Chevron-Houston Texans Maker Annex.

Closed Mondays. Closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, and Easter Sunday. - General Admission: $17 per person and $16 for seniors 65 years and older. FREE for children under one and Museum Members. Free Hours: FREE FAMILY NIGHT: Thursdays 5 pm - 8 pm.
