Presented by artist Alexander Squier, printmaking instructor at the Glassell Studio School and University of Houston
This program begins with a staff-led tour of the exhibition Jasper Johns: 100 Variations on a Theme. See Jasper Johns’s creative process at work in the series of 100 unique prints he made over the course of 10 days in 2015. Meet in the lobby of the Beck Building at 12:50 p.m.
After visiting the exhibition, head across the street for the workshop, which takes place in the print studio at the Glassell School of Art. Learn about the printing techniques Johns used, and try your hand at monotype printing—create your own prints inspired by the exhibition.
