Try your hand at fashion design in this workshop for adults!
Marissa Hershon, curatorial assistant of decorative arts, craft, and design, begins the afternoon with a presentation on the exhibition The Glamour and Romance of Oscar de la Renta, highlighting the cultural motifs and works of art that served as points of inspiration for Oscar de la Renta’s designs.
Then, local Houston fashion/jewelry designer and Glassell School of Art instructor Jessica McMahon focuses on how to conceptualize a cohesive design, addressing color choice, pattern, and shape. You can create inspiration mood boards using sketching and collaging techniques. Following the workshop, you’re invited to visit the exhibition.
