The Children’s Museum of Houston will host its 14th annual Día del Niño (Day of the Child) Celebration. "Children's Day" honors kids on various days in many places around the world. In Mexico, it is celebrated on April 30 and is known as "El día del niño." The Museum’s special event will focus on enriching kids’ lives with bilingual literacy.

About the Programs & Activities

SPECIAL EVENTS:

Meet and Greet with Consulate General of Mexico: Spice up festivities with free books and goodies
Event time: All day (while supplies last).

Spotlight Performance – Mariachi Oro de Tierra: Enjoy the lively sounds of Mexico’s traditional music.
Event time: Noon in Alcove.

Giveaways and Treats: Sample delicious snacks from Bimbo, FUD, KLASS, and more!
Event time: All day (while supplies last).

ONGOING ACTIVITIES:

* Crumpled Paper Art: Turn a crumpled piece of paper into a colorful work of art in Art Academy.

* “The World is Waiting For You:” Write and draw your next great adventure at Ecostation.

* Ylvis’”What Does the Fox Say?:” Make a mask full of foxy fun at Junktion.

* Ziefert and Tobacks’ “Swing Like a Monkey:” Cut out your own swinging monkeys at Junktion.

* Thaumatrope Spinner: Combine creativity with the power of illusion at Junktion!

Tuesday - Saturday, 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
Thursday, 10:00 am - 8:00 pm
Sunday, 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Closed Mondays. Closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, and Easter Sunday.
General Admission: $17 per person and $16 for seniors 65 years and older. FREE for children under one and Museum Members. Free Hours: FREE FAMILY NIGHT: Thursdays 5 pm - 8 pm.
