On the evening before spectacles were staged at the Colosseum, gladiators attended lavish banquets hosted by aristocratic and wealthy citizens. Fine, prepared foods were served at these lavish affairs--a contrast to the gladiators primarily vegetarian diet. In the spirit of the Roman love of spectacle and cuisine, culinary historian Merrianne Timko and Chef Luis Rubio of La Griglia have collaborated on a menu capturing the flavors of ancient Rome and the provinces from which many gladiators hailed.
This evening is hosted at La Griglia.
Members $95, Tickets $115
Advance ticket purchase recommended by April 12. No refunds will be made 72 hours before the event, however tickets can be transferred to another individual. Please notify [email protected] with your name, transaction number, and name of the guests using your tickets.
