CRAFT SOCIAL ON THIRD THURSDAYS: EXPERIMENTAL SOUND
Thursday, Sep. 21, 2017 – Thursday, Sep. 21, 2017
06:00 PM – 08:00 PM
US/Central
Join Houston Center for Contemporary Craft for Craft Social, a night of making and exploring contemporary craft over conversation and refreshments.
This month, we will explore experimental sound, inspired by the works on view in our current exhibition The Sound of Things. Explore the exhibition with curatorial fellow Sarah Darro, and discover how artists Bohyun Yoon and Alyce Santoro conceptualize sound within objects and craft materials. Discover how music and art interact through experimental sound performances and tours of the exhibition.
Craft Social takes place on the third Thursday evening of each month and is a fun way for adults to explore contemporary craft through other disciplines and media. These casual, social events emphasize experimentation, curiosity, and innovation. Visitors are encouraged to drop by and participate. All events are free and on a first-come first-served basis. Capacity is limited.
Craft beer is generously provided by Buffalo Bayou Brewing Co.
Materials are sponsored by Art Supply on Main Street.
