Princesses and pirates and magical Texas snow! – wear your favorite fairy tale gown or superhero cape and join us for an enchanting evening at the Zoo where you can even play in a frozen wonderland of SNOW!

Didn’t bring your crown or tiara? No problem! Visit our Crown Yourself station! Or, make yourself a tail to dance around in. You want to look your best when you meet our princess and pirate at the Reflection Pool starting at 5:00 p.m. Plus, join in our parades at 6:15 and 7:15 p.m.

Guests can also enjoy a variety of fun Meet the Keeper Talks Presented by Phillips 66. Be on the lookout for the Houston Zoo’s very own Aurora the orangutan at 6:00 p.m., meet Boga the Komodo dragon at 6:30 p.m. and check out our stoic cassowaries at 7:00 p.m. Learn how you can help these species live happily ever after.

Buy tickets: Online reservations are required for all guests. Members do not need reservations and can enter through our Member Entrance. Tickets will not be available for purchase at the gate. Wherever you are in the Houston Zoo, you’re never far away from a snack. Cafes, carts and kiosks are located throughout the Zoo and feature items such as burgers, salads, hot dogs, soft pretzels, popcorn, fresh fruit, beverages and more.

Food Trucks

Themed food trucks with a variety of savory and sweet options. Visit the Masakan truck located near our jaguar habitat for Asian inspired cuisine, and our BBQ Americana trailer for smoked meats and classic sides.

Twiga Café

Visit Twiga’s spacious, cool dining room to snack on everything from hamburgers to salads to chicken tenders. Pizza, a variety of other kids’ options, and snacks like fresh fruit, cookies, trail mix, and more are also available. Sit outside and watch the giraffes or rhinos while you eat!

Albert & Ethel Herzstein Trading Post

Feeling the need for a sweet treat? Here’s your place. Located at the entrance of African Forest, the Trading Post offers Dole Whips as well as a variety of other snacks and treats, including cookies, large pretzels, and popcorn. You’ll also find beverages like soda, juice and Saint Arnold beer.
