In the ongoing “Conversations with the Director” series, Gary Tinterow, Director, The Margaret Alkek Williams Chair, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, engages an eclectic roster of guests in one-on-one conversations about the arts.
In this edition, author Michael Shnayerson joins Tinterow for a discussion about Boom: Mad Money, Mega Dealers, and the Rise of Contemporary Art. The program highlights the meteoric growth of the contemporary art market, and the global network of dealers, artists, and collectors that propelled the industry to extraordinary heights.
A longtime contributing editor to Vanity Fair, Shnayerson is the author of eight nonfiction books, including The Contender, Coal River, and The Car That Could.
• A book signing precedes the program, in the North Foyer at 5:30 p.m.
