Cabaret Da Camera at Bayou Bend

Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015

09:00 PM – 10:00 PM
US/Central

Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens hosts cabaret-style performances by Da Camera Houston artists. Each performance is staged inside the elaborate Cristal Palace Spiegeltent—the Belgian “tent of mirrors” situated in Bayou Bend's Diana Garden during the holiday season. Built about 1900, Spiegeltents traveled throughout Europe, installed at town fairs for entertainment and refreshments.

Utilizing the Spiegeltent's grand stage, each Cabaret Da Camera program features a different musical theme, with two performances each night.

About the Performance

Cash bar and light refreshments are available.

Weimar Berlin
Featuring vocalist Sonja Bruzauskas

On opening night, Cabaret Da Camera features stunning costumes and towering vocals, with inspiration from performances immortalized by Marlene Dietrich and the popular musical Cabaret. Sonja Bruzauskas, a German mezzo soprano, transports you to the bawdy, comedic theater of Berlin in the 1920s and 1930s.
