Join Sarah Whiting, dean and William Ward Watkin Professor of Architecture at Rice University, as she places Cheryl Donegan’s GRLZ + VEILS within the broader context of Junkspace, a contemporary condition commonly found in the built environment, as coined and diagnosed by Dutch architect and theorist Rem Koolhaas. About Sarah Whiting
Sarah Whiting, who worked with Koolhaas as a designer and writer prior to going into academia, is the William Ward Watkin Professor and dean of the school of architecture at Rice University. Whiting is also a partner of WW Architecture, a practice that she co-founded with her partner Ron Witte in 1999. Whiting’s interests are interdisciplinary, with architecture’s public audience at their core. Whiting’s writings have appeared in publications ranging from Assemblage to Wired. She obtained an interdisciplinary B.A. from Yale University an M.Arch. from Princeton University and a Ph.D. in architectural history, theory and criticism from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
