A Routine of Parts

Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017 – Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017

07:00 PM
US/Central

In conjunction with R. Eric McMaster’s exhibition, A Routine in Parts, Lawndale is pleased to announce a three-way collaboration between the artist, Lawndale, and Da Camera’s Young Artist Program on Thursday, February 23, 2017, at 7 PM.

The event's program is comprised of three parts: a performance by the musicians together in one gallery, a discussion drawing out their respective practices alongside McMaster’s work on view, and a recreation of the performance with the musicians playing apart in three different galleries. This challenging performance embraces themes relevant to McMaster’s exhibition including individualism, collaboration, endurance, and chance.

Musicians Amanda Gallick (flute), Stephanie Gustafson (harp), and special guest Abhijit Sengupta (viola) are members of the Da Camera's Young Artist Program. The Young Artist Program, launched in 2009 in Houston, is a professional development program for emerging chamber music and jazz musicians. Dedicated to performance and music education, Da Camera's Young Artists performances range from workshops and school visits to galleries and concert halls.

Admission is free and open to the public. Galleries are open from 12 - 8 PM. Food by Moon Rooster will be available starting at 6 pm with beverages provided by Saint Arnold's.
