Dominic Smith is the author of four novels, including The Last Painting of Sara de Vos. The 2016 publication—a New York Times best seller and a New York Times Book Review Editors’ Choice—is the MFAH Book Club selection for this summer.
The author visits the Museum to discuss the inspirations behind the narrative and characters in The Last Painting of Sara de Vos. A book signing follows.

About the Speaker
Dominic Smith serves on the fiction faculty in the Warren Wilson MFA Program for Writers and has taught at the University of Texas at Austin, Southern Methodist University, and Rice University. He grew up in Sydney, Australia, and now lives in Austin. His writing has appeared in numerous publications, including Texas Monthly, the Atlantic, Chicago Tribune, and New York Times.
