Presented by choreographer Jessica Lang and architect Stephen Holl

Jessica Lang Dance, founded in 2011, brings immersive performances flush with the beauty of movement and music. The dance company’s newest work, Tesseracts of Time, merges the art forms of architecture and dance. This “dance for architecture”—commissioned in part by Society for the Performing Arts for its 50th anniversary season, along with the Harris Theater and the Chicago Architecture Biennial—is divided into four parts, like the seasons compressed into 20 minutes. The massive sets for Tesseracts of Time were specifically designed for the piece by Steven Holl Architects.

In this conversation the evening before the performance of Tesseracts of Time at Houston’s Wortham Center, Lang and Holl show film clips from Tesseracts of Time and discuss their collaboration.
